Oh what! 15 year old girl gang-raped by 38 men

Malaysian police have detained 13 men and are looking for other suspects following allegations that a 15-year-old girl was raped by 38 men in an abandoned hut, media disclosed on Friday.

Astro Awani television and and The Star daily reported that the assault took place in the northern state of Kelantan on May 20 when the girl met a girlfriend and was lured to an empty hut reported to be a local drug haunt.

The men took turns to rape her for hours. Police were also investigating whether her 17-year-old friend was also raped. continue...

Brad Pitt's Ukrainian attacker pleads no contest to battery

The Ukrainian prankster who struck actor Brad Pitt in the face at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie "Maleficent" was ordered to stay away from celebrity events as he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge on Friday. Reuters reports

Vitalii Sediuk, a 25-year-old Ukrainian TV personality infamous for pulling pranks on celebrities at events, was charged with four misdemeanor counts of battery, assault, unlawful activity and interference at a theatrical event.

He pleaded no contest to battery and unlawful activity, and the rest of the counts were dismissed as part of his plea deal. continue...

The Lovers were recently spotted together at the Pepsi Samba party which took place last week Thursday on the Island. Eye witness said Wizkid and Tania were all over each other, and Tania stayed glued to him through out, except when he was performing.

'My Story Has Changed' I Make N60m Touring 20 Nigerian States - Oritsefemi

The "Double Wahala" crooner, Oritsefemi whom a lot of people are now forced to reckon with after dishing out hits upon hits has said his story has changed and things are now better for him. Speaking with a Punch reporter, Oritsefemi said he charges N3m per show and he could do 20 states in a row, making him earn about N60m per brand-concert. Here is how he explained it in his own words;

“Things have definitely changed. Nowadays, I don’t charge less than N3m to perform at a concert. Sometimes the concerts are funded by multinational companies and we have to tour 20 states. Multiply N3m by 20 states and you will understand what I am saying. The situation has indeed improved”.

Finally!!! Apple Buys Dr. Dre's Beats Electronics For $3billion

Apple Electronics, yesterday Wednesday 28th of May, 2014 officially announced the acquisition of Dr Dre's Beats Electronics for $3billion. According to Forbes, Apple paid $2.6billion cash upfront and gave $400million in stock that will vest over time.

The $3billion purchase price includes Beats Music, the sister company that runs a subscription streaming music service. As part of the deal, Beats co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine will join Apple in undisclosed roles.

Nigerian Polytechnics & Monotechnics Students Protest Over Prolonged ASUP Strike

Students of Nigerian Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the early hours of today Wednesday 28th 0f May hit the streets of Lagos to protest over the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP.

The strike which commenced about 9 months ago has grounded academic activities in all Nigerian Polytechnics and as well posed a measure of threat on the future of the affected students.

The agrieved students were carrying placards, singing solidarity songs and calling on the Nigerian Goverment to do something in time to safe their future.

It was reported that police shot at the protesting students in Ebute Metta area of the state this afternoon. See more pics of the protest below...

Twin Bomb Blast Rocks Jos... Over 200 People Reported Dead

More than 200 people have been reported dead in a fresh twin bomb blast that occurred this afternoon at Murtala Mohammed way, close to a very big market in Jos. The second blast occurred about 30 minutes after the first explosion.

The bomb blast was reportedly planted in two cars, a Peugeot J5 van and a Toyota Sienna SUV with a Gombe state license number plate.

 People at the scene of the sad occurrence told news men that the car had been parked near the busy market since early this morning which had drawn the curiosity of people in the area who allegedly alerted the police. It exploded many hours later.

300L Wins 2014 Unilag URP HOD's Cup... (Reports & full photos of the event)

The 300 level class of the department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Lagos yesterday Monday, 19th of May, won the 2014 HOD's football cup after defeating the 400 level class in a dramatic football match that ended in a penalty shoot-out. 

Making it the 3rd consecutive times "back to back" of winning the trophy. Meanwhile the 200L class settled for the 3rd position after brutalizing the 500 level class in an epic game of football that ended 3-1 in favour of the second year students.

Unilag Computer Science Student Wins Don Etiebet ICT Prize

Joseph Olakunmi Babajide, a Computer Science student of our very own University of Lagos, has won the Don Etiebet Innovation Prize for designing a scalable and marketable software solution to solve basic challenges.

Babajide’s submission was selected after close examination by a panel of I.C.T veterans. He has been presented the Award and a reasonable cash prize.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahmon Adejare Bello on behalf of the University Community, congratulates and wishes Joseph Olakunmi Babajide a successful academic and personal life.
