The actress,who was a student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) opened up on her bitter experience on sexual harassment from one of her female lecturers as at the time of her studentship at the reputable institution.

The 200 level class of the Human Kinetics Education department, University of Lagos had their movement and dance examination last week Friday 20th of June, 2014. The event was the practical examination of their HKE 209, a departmental course that promotes dancing as a means of exercising every part of the body system as well as an opportunity to discover hidden talents among the students.

Prince Kashamu Buruji donates brand new bus to UNILAG

An alumnus of UNILAG, Prince Kashamu Buruji (the founder and chief promoter of Omo Ilu foundation) has extended his good gesture to his alma-malta by donating a brand new eighteen-seater bus to the English department of the prestigious University of Lagos, UNILAG.

Present at the official presentation of the bus to the University on Monday 16th of June, 2014 was the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon A. Bello, alongside other top officials of the University of Lagos such as: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Research), Professor Babajide Alo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Service), Professor Duro Oni; Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Taiwo Folasade Ipaye, Bursar, Mr. Lateef Odekunle and University Librarian, Dr. Olukemi Fadehan among others.

Late Prof Dora Akunyili to be buried on the 28 of August

Husband of the former NAFDAC Director General and former Minister of Information and Communications, Late Dora Akunyili who died on the 7th of June in an Indian Specialist Cancer hospital will be buried on the 28th of August her husband has said.

Mr Akunyili thanked Nigerians who stood by her during her 2-year battle with cancer, and those supporting them now after her demise.

He encouraged anyone who has a tribute or testimonial in her honour to send a mail to any of the below addresses and also call any of the below phone numbers if need be. He also thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for the special valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council held in her honour.

Mr Nigeria Emmanuel Ikubese has emerged the 1st runner up at the just concluded Mr World 2014 which held at the English Rivera this evening.

Denmark’s Nicklas Pedersen emerged first, our own 25-year old Emmanuel Ikubese came 2nd while Mr Mexico was 3rd. Congrats! Hope the football team will make us proud at the world cup as well.

Kefee died of lungs failure, wasn't 6 months pregnant - management confirms

I prayed it wasn't true but so sad the Branama and Kokoroko crooner, singer Kefee has been confirmed dead in a phone conversation with her former PR Femi Salawu.

The 6 months pregnant singer was said to have passed on in the early hours of today, after going into coma aboard an aircraft on her way to Chicago to attend an event a few days ago, which made the plane to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles so that she could get medical attention. She was reported never to came out of Coma until she finally gave up this morning.

Update: Her husband and Manager have both confirmed the news.

This is really really sad.

Hehehe!!! *Oro buruku pelu erin* Students of Lagos State University (LASU) have rejected the government’s decision to reduce the institution’s hiked fees by 34-60 percent.

Speaking at a press conference today where the issue was addressed, the students’ union president, Nurudeen Yusuf, said the state government has been insincere in its dealings with them.

“We do not accept the percentage reduction offered by the Government because in 2011 when the fees were increased, it was not done on percentage level. Rather, they made the pronouncement in Nigerian naira and kobo.” continue...

VICTORY AT LAST: Gov. Fashola reduces LASU school fee

Yaay!!! after much protest from students of the Lagos State University (LASU) over the outrageous hike in their school fees, the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola has approved a reduction in their school fees by 34% and 60% across the different faculties and courses.

Announcing the reduction at a press conference yesterday in Alausa Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Fatai Olukoga said after much deliberations by the adhoc committee set up by the Governor to look into all the grey areas of the proposed new fees, the Governor yesterday adopted the committees recommendations and approved the reductions.

Oh no!! Tuface Idibia's dad diagnosed of cancer

68 year old father of the King of African music, Tuface Idibia has been diagnosed of the deadly prostrate cancer. 

This was made known by the legendary singer Tuface himself on Sunday 8th of June, 2014 at the CECP charity event held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. 

But, fortunate for Pa Idibia that the disease is detected at the earliest stage. Meanwhile he will commence chemotherapy soon in order to stop the spread of the killer disease.

Dora Akunyili to be immortalized

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mrs Chinwe Nwaebili has called on the State Government to immortalize the late Prof Dora Akunyili. Nwaebili made the call on Wednesday in Awka during the plenary session.

Mr Ebele Ejiofor, representing Anaocha 1, had moved a motion on the floor of the house, urging his colleagues to support the immortalizing of late Dora Akunyili as a distinguished and selfless servant of Nigeria.

Attack on my convoy was a plot to assassinate me – Gov. Fayemi

Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has described Sunday’s attack on his convoy by a police team as an attempt to assassinate him.

He lamented the conduct of the Commander of Police Mobile Force in Ado-Ekiti, Gabriel Selenkere and his officers during the All Progressives Congress (APC) symbolic sweeping of roads.

Governor Fayemi while speaking with news men in Ado-Ekiti before leaving for Abuja on Monday to take the case against Ekiti police’s conduct to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar.

Pair plead not guilty to burglary of Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles home

A man and a woman have pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles to burglary and theft among other charges, after a Maserati sports car was stolen from the home of pop singer Miley Cyrus along with jewelry and other items, prosecutors said on Tuesday. Reuters reports.

Tylor Scott, 19, and Naomi Charles, 21, both from Arizona, face felony counts of first degree residential burglary, grand theft of personal property, grand theft auto and unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle, prosecutors said.
