MISS UNILAG 2014: PRESS RELEASE



For the past two months to be exact, “WHO IS SHE” has been the question on the lips of the youths and
most especially the members of the University of Lagos Community. This is as a result of the thought-provoking content of a publicity campaign which had been massively been launched online and banners
placed at strategic locations on the school campus with the inscription:
“SHE’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF FIRST CHOICE, WHO IS SHE?”.

This particular campaign which is the brain-child of SULCATA ENTERTAINMENT did generate a lot of
controversies and publicity with the social media world staking a claim to its fair share of the fun. This
campaign trended so much on the Nigeria social media scene so much that even KERMIT, the social
media cartoon celebrity took some time off to address the question posed in this campaign. continue.....

But on Thursday August 21, all the drama, secrecy et cetera surrounding this “WHO IS SHE?” campaign
was laid to rest as the answer to this all-important question was answered at the very high profile teaser
unveiling party held at the recently opened, and ECLIPSE LOUNGE in the Akoka-Yaba metropolis.

 It was at this event that the concept behind the teaser was revealed. We the management of Sulcata Entertainment hereby officially announce that the teaser campaign ‘SHE’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF FIRST CHOICE, WHO IS SHE is actually talking about “MISS UNILAG 2014”.

The WHO IS SHE campaign was created to tease, excite and engage the students and general public towards the MISS UNILAG 2014 project, ushering in the official commencement of the project.

“MISS UNILAG” is the biggest and most anticipated event in the University of Lagos as is often referred to as the "mother of all events". The 2014 edition will engage the campus community with various events and activations from the August 25-26 of September.

It is one unique project of the University of Lagos that brings the whole school community and its environs together to celebrate talent, brilliance, hard-work, courage, beauty and brains. It is the pride of the whole school (students and management alike), and also commands a very high followership.

To empower the next generation of leaders by producing worthy ambassadors and role models that could represent Nigeria at both National and International levels thereby positively impacting the image of the school.

In summary, it is a magnetic launch-pad to future greatness, bringing it to present the strategic rebranding effort invested in the brand in 2011 has yielded great dividends. Miss Unilag is now a very positive brand that is highly respected and is identifying with more and more positive causes and projects. The successful hosting of our pageant brands such as the “Miss Unilag 2011”, “Miss LASU 2012” & "Mr & Miss Unilag 2013" now has the student community yearning for more, hence our reason for "Miss Unilag 2014" tagged Illuminating the Glory.

MISS UNILAG 2014 project has been designed to go a little further than the previous editions as it is very rich in content and already command a very large followership. Our comprehensive media plan covers satellite and terrestrial TV stations, radio, print and social media. We have also gone into strategic and
insightful partnerships with various corporate organizations to. Example of such organizations includes E-circle foundation, a female non-governmental organization for the training and empowerment of

Miss Unilag 2014 finals is on the 26th of September at the Indoor Sports Hall, Unilag Sports Centre from 5pm. It will feature mind blowing performances by BurnaBoy, Cynthia Morgan, Runtown, Byno, Creeda, CharaChoros dance crew & Fola David.

Other major Pre-Events leading up to the finals includes: 

SEP 16: MEET THE CONTESTANTS :- This is the 1st unveiling of the final 15 contestants to the student community. They will be invited to be seen on stage and will be made to talk briefly on a selected topic.

Venue: Freedom Square, New hall, Unilag.

SEP 18: PRE-PARTY :- This is the official Miss Unilag Pre-Party, where people will have the opportunity to socialize and party with the queens. It will be an exclusive Red-Carpet event

Time: 11pm

Venue: Club Road Runners, Ibikunle St, off University Road, Akoka.

SEP 21 - 25: ROYAL WEEK :- This is the final week of the event, several activities will be staged to further engage a larger student crowd and get them to benefit from the event.

Time: 5pm - 7pm daily

Venue: Freedom Square, New hall, Unilag.

SEP 26: AFTER PARTY :- To celebrate the victory of the queen

Time: 11pm

Venue: Club Rumours, GRA Ikeja
