Love Clinic: How To Love Her Truly

Love is the greatest thing that ever happened to mankind. I believe in love. But a lot of us (guys) often mistaken love for that popular three letter word that you and I know all too well.

We limit love to that intimacy or (physiological magnetism) that draws us towards our own female specie, that makes you want to get close, feel her and embrace her every femininity. You Wanna touch every delicate part of her, wanna kiss her lips, neck and even fondle her soft earlobes.

Fashola reverses LASU school fees to 25,000

Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State today Thursday 7th of August 2014 announced the reversal of the Lagos State University (LASU) fee from N350,000 to the old rate of N25,000 across board.

Fashola made the pronouncement at the 19th convocation ceremony of the higher degree award in Lagos.
The governor said he had met the State Executive Council on the issue and an approval to that effect had been made.

He said with the reduction, the university would run an uninterrupted academic calendar as the era of students spending extra days from their expected four years was over in the institution.

“With the increment in 2011, some busy bodies tried to use the opportunity to seek an undue attention and instigate unions and students against the management and the government,” he said.

Fashola also assured members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), LASU chapter, that their issues would be addressed.

The union met the governor, chanting solidarity songs to demand for the payment of their June and July salary, which was withheld by the government.

“Calm down, after the event, we would be meeting to resolve your demands,” he said.

Meanwhile, some LASU students who were protesting for further reduction on their fees went into jubilation after the reversal was announced.

The Student Union President, Mr Nurudeen Yusuf, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) commended Fashola for his kind gesture.

“Today marks a significant day in the history of Lagos, with this development, we are optimistic that the future of Lagos is great,” he said.

Yusuf said that Fashola had proved that he was a listening leader by wiping out the tears of the LASU students with the total reversal.

“It was unexpected because we proposed N46,000 but the governor surprised us by reversing the fee back to N25,000.

It implies that no pain, no gain, we have suffered, now we will enjoy,” he said.

NAN reports that Fashola increased LASU fee from N25,000 to N197,000 for Arts and Humanities students, and N350,000 for medical students in 2011.

Congratulations to all students of LASU and every Nigerian student.

Read the official statement below:

UNILAG AUTHORITIES INAUGURATE STUDENTS DISCIPLINARY BOARD

Authorities of the University of Lagos have inaugurated an eight-member Students Disciplinary Board. The Chairman is Professor E.O. Omolehinwa of the Department of Accounting while the Secretary is Mr. O.A. Omotola of the Students’ Affairs Division.

Other members of the Board are: Professor (Mrs.) A. Atsenuwa (Department of Public Law), Professor O.A. Falaiye (Department of Philosophy), Professor (Mrs.) J. Okpuzor (Department of Cell Biology & Genetics), Dr. (Mrs.) G.A. Ayoola (Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Dr. S.A. Oladipo (Department of Educational Administration) and Abdul Adefolarin (a student of the Department of Insurance appointed as the representative of the Student Body).

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon A. Bello, FAEng  thanked the members for agreeing to serve on the Board and charged them to start work immediately by clearing out the outstanding cases of student indiscipline ahead of the planned restoration of full student unionism in the University.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the recent upward increase of indiscipline on the University campus led to the re-constitution of this Board, the University Management cannot afford to fold its hand and look on while students take the laws into their hand as an environment without discipline encourages total breakdown of law and order.

In response, the Chairman of the Board, Professor Omolehinwa thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the appointment and reconstitution of the Board. His words, “A society without discipline cannot pursue its core business. The University is not different from any such society and we are happy to have this opportunity to play a part in efforts aimed at ensuring that discipline is entrenched in our students.

Professor Omolehinwa assured the University Management of the Committee’s readiness to commence work immediately and administer the laws as it relate to the students, fairly and objectively.
